Sigray, Inc. has an immediate need for a part-time Facilities Technician. This position will oversee the general maintenance and upkeep of our facility. This role is essential to ensuring a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for employees and visitors. The ideal candidate will have experience in minor repairs, maintenance tasks, and basic facility operations, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position requires a hands-on individual who can work independently and efficiently while responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner. This position is part-time with 20 - 24 hours per week, depending on building needs.
We have recently relocated to Benicia, and there is a lot of work to be done to get the building fully set up and optimized. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on projects and improving facility spaces as we work to enhance and maintain our new location.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct routine inspections of the building and grounds to identify and address maintenance issues.
-Perform minor repairs, including but not limited to changing light bulbs, fixing leaks, patching walls, and repairing furniture.
-Assist with basic electrical and plumbing tasks such as resetting breakers, unclogging drains, or replacing fixtures when necessary.
-Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance services.
-Ensure all common areas, including restrooms, break rooms, and entryways, are clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies.
-Monitor and maintain HVAC, lighting, and other building systems to ensure they are functioning correctly, reporting any malfunctions to management.
-Ensure compliance with building safety and security protocols, including fire safety checks and emergency exits.
-Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, notifying management when restocking is needed.
-Respond to maintenance requests from employees, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance.
-Keep exterior areas, including parking lots, walkways, and landscaping, clean and free of hazards.
-Identify potential safety hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents or damage to property.

Requirements:
-Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field is preferred.
-Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repair work is a plus.
-Experience working with lab facilities is a plus
-Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks efficiently.
-Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and perform hands-on maintenance tasks as required.
-Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends for urgent facility needs.
