Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Field & Project Support Assistant to join our roofing team in San Jose, CA. This role offers tiered pay based on experience and responsibilities. Candidates may start in an entry-level support position with opportunities to grow into, or join at a higher tier immediately if they already have relevant experience in construction, roofing, or project coordination.
Field/Project Support
Candidate Possessing 0-2 years experience
Pay Range: Hourly: $23 – $27/hr ( $48K – $58K/year)
Candidate Possessing 2+ years of experience, knowledge of roof material and roofing process.
Pay Range: Hourly: $27+ (58k Annual)
Position Summary:
The Job Site & Project Support role works closely with the Branch Lead to ensure smooth, efficient operations for roofing projects from start to finish—both in the field and in the office. This position combines on-site assistance with project coordination, helping manage materials, schedules, safety, documentation, and support crews and communication to keep projects on track and up to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Branch Lead with daily setup and closeout of job sites.
- Deliver, organize, and maintain tools, equipment, and materials as directed.
- Pick up materials from suppliers and deliver them according to the Branch Lead’s requests.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed on-site and report hazards immediately.
- Provide hands-on labor support to crews when needed.
- Track daily work progress and communicate updates to the Branch Lead.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at job sites.
- Assist with quality control checks under Branch Lead guidance.
- Support project scheduling, job assignments, and coordination as directed.
- Maintain project files, photos, permits, and documentation.
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, and team members as directed.
- Track material orders, delivery schedules, and internal checklists.
- Monitor project timelines and report delays or issues.
- Assist with project completion and closeout requirements.
- Operate drones for project documentation and inspection purposes.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in picking up materials from suppliers and delivering them accurately per Branch Lead requests.
- Knowledge of roofing materials, tools, and construction processes (preferred).
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials safely.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s Licence and be able to operate company vehicles and trailers.
- Check and answer emails, notifications and text messages regularly throughout the day.
- Proficiency in basic office software and company applications (ClickUp, Job Nimbus, email, daily task lists, and checklists).
- Ability to operate drones for site inspection and progress tracking.
