Rossmoor Walnut Creek is a nationally recognized community for active seniors who are 55 and older. With nearly 10,000 residents in 6,700 homes on 2,000 acres, Rossmoor is a beautiful, serene enclave about 25 miles east of San Francisco.

GRF employees provide a huge variety of services including maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, golf course maintenance, recreation, lifeguarding, fitness training, vehicle repair, accounting, insurance and purchasing.

Position: Carpenter, Building Maintenance

Duties and Responsibilities:

Looking for a general carpenter who is skilled in all applicable trades. Performs a wide variety of maintenance work on Rossmoor Mutuals (homeowners) property involving carpentry, including and not limited to Building side repairs, walls, beams, support posts, decks, windows, doors, shelving and signage, installation of framing and wallboard, all as assigned falling within the purview of the Managing Supervisor.

This is a union position with full medical & retirement benefits through Laborer's Local 324 AFL-CIO.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs exterior maintenance and repairs for buildings and building systems as directed to required quality and timeliness standards.

Performs maintenance and repairs for doors, walls, fences, gates, and decks to required quality and timeliness standards. Working with sheet metal, a plus.

Completes required paperwork as required in timely fashion.

Requirements:

3 years minimum residential carpentry experience.

High School diploma or GED and demonstrated ability to read/write business English.

Fluent in English. Spanish language, a plus.

Demonstrated ability to properly use carpentry hand and power tools.

Ability to learn and apply Foundation and department policies and procedures and industry standards.

Very safety conscious and calm in any situation.

Must be a true team player and have the ability to interact appropriately with senior residents, visitors, and guests.

Demonstrable high skills in customer service, priority, and time management.

Additional Requirements:

 Clean and valid California driver license and satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment.

 Ability to meet the Dept. of Homeland Security requirements confirming identity and right to work in the United States is required.

 Offer is contingent upon satisfactorily passing pre-employment physical, drug test and physical capabilities assessment.

 Previous employment must be verifiable.

 This is a union position (Laborer’s Local 324 AFL-CIO).
