I'm a female who acquired a spinal cord injury 10 years ago. I live independently in my Concord, Ca. home. However, I am dependent on the use of my wheelchair to get around. This means I require varying levels of assistance for most other day-to-day activities. Although my home has been modified and tailored to encourage maximum independence - it still requires the correct setup to allow any level of independence.
I’ve always been a huge animal lover. I believe they're truly therapeutic and have the ability to heal us in a way nothing else can. I have several animals - 2 Frenchies, an English bulldog, a hypoallergenic cat that lives indicates . Mini Nigerian dwarf goats and 2 mini pigs that live outside. While they have separate help/care, they are my “children." So, hiring individuals who respect all creatures and are comfortable around animals is crucial for this position.
My body reacts very negatively to stress. So trying to keep a calm and positive environment in my household is very important to me.
I need help with ADLs such as:
-dressing
-bathing/toileting
-repositioning(in bed+help once in my chair)
-stretching/ROM
-transfers(SureHands ceiling liftTRAINING PROVIDED)
-light meal prep+housekeeping
-help with routine household duties etc.
Eventually, transportation to/from appointments and outings may be needed. A wheelchair-adapted SUV is provided for this.

Availability must include Saturday and Sunday. Must be available evenings during the week.
