Are you creative, kind, and giving? Work with us!

We offer benefits for Full Time employees!

Being a caregiver is an important and meaningful job.

As a Companion, you'll work one-on-one with our client, out and about Santa Cruz, Watsonville or in their home, as they lead an independent and personally fulfilling life. You'll be part of an experienced team of caregivers who support them. A shift can be anything from seeing a movie on Pacific Ave, to going to a jazz festival in Monterey, to a day trip to the Big Sur coast.

It's a job that's both fun but meaningful to the person you're supporting. A lot of our clients used

to live in group homes or institutions, and now enjoy the freedom to live as they choose.

Mainstream Inc. offers Supported Living Services to adults with developmental disabilities in

Santa Cruz, California. We have several home support staff / Companion / Caregiver positions

available for a thoughtful, reliable person with great people skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

● Words to describe you: unflappable, steady, dependable, mature, patient, consistent, down

to earth, hard working, and compassionate.

● You thrive working as a communicative, engaging part of a team.

● You are also a great self-starter and are comfortable taking initiative independently

● You have experience with (or advocating for) people with Developmental Disabilities

and/or mental health issues.

● You must be at least 18 years old.

● You must be able to pass a DOJ fingerprint clearance and background check.

CURRENT CLIENT OPENINGS:

The current openings are weekend overnight shifts in Bay Village, located in Watsonville close to East Lake shopping center. The shifts begin at 3p and end at 9a on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is a developmentally disabled couple who also happen to be senior citizens. They need help with cooking, cleaning, basic hygiene, medication administration etc. They are both ambulatory so they navigate their home and the community well and are both pretty independent. They mostly sleep through the night (8 or 9 hours usually) with the exception of a 1am bathroom reminder. Folks who have a car for an outing would be appreciated but not required.

COMPENSATION:

The pay is $18.60 per hour for awake hours. For overnight shifts, you're paid $16.50 per hour to sleep during sleep hours, up to 8 hours a night. This position is partly funded by the county of Santa Cruz, so you'll need to enroll in In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) for most of our open positions. Your IHSS registration expenses will be promptly reimbursed. Employees who work full time qualify for medical and dental benefits as well as PTO and life insurance.

BENEFITS:

Medical, dental, life and paid time off apply to eligible employees who work 30+ hours per week.
