At this time, we seek someone who is available weekly on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, but who will cross train and learn morning and bedtime routines as well. Having flexibility in your schedule to cover back-up shifts as needed is important, but you would NOT be the only person we would rely on.
Wednesdays, Thursdays, occasional Saturdays 1pm -7:30pm
Tasks: Driving me in my van to appointments and errands (must have clean driving record and valid license), shopping and errands in your own car (if you have one), managing grocery inventory, restocking medical and household supplies. assistance with meal prep, admin work, light household chores, snack and medication.
Occasional Morning shifts: 8:30am - 1:00pm
Tasks: Assistance with feeding, medication, exercising arms and legs, bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring from bed to wheelchair using Hoyer lift, bathroom needs.
Occasional Bedtime shifts, 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM
Tasks: Assistance with getting ready for bed, transferring from wheelchair to bed; exercising arms and legs; assisting with snack, medication, and bathroom needs.
Requirements: Reliable, efficient, prompt, strong communication skills. Holds SS# and Valid Driver's license. Registered with In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) or be willing to register with them, which includes attending an orientation and passing a Live Scan Fingerprint Background Check.
No experience necessary; will provide paid training for all routines.
Pay Rate and Terms:
$20.00 per hour, paid twice a month
Start Date: Immediately
Location: Between the Downtown and North Berkeley BART Stations.
