The Department of Health Services is currently seeking a motivated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for an intermittent, extra-help position!

Salary Pay $30.91 - $39.87/Hour

NOTE: The Department of Health Services is currently recruiting to fill an Extra-Help Licensed Vocational Nurse position at either the I or II level. If you are interested in applying at both levels, you will need to apply to the separate, concurrent recruitments being conducted.

The Youth and Family Services Licensed Vocational Nurse will provide nursing care to children and youth at the Lakes campus in Santa Rosa. Responsibilities include:

Recording vital signs

Receiving phone calls for medication questions and concerns

Documenting services in the electronic health record

Reporting urgent needs to child psychiatrists

Taking verbal medication orders

Managing and administering injections

Processing step-out referral documents

Coordinating care with primary care providers

The ideal candidates will also possess:

Multi-disciplinary teamwork skills

Experience working with children and families

The ability to multitask and set priorities independently

Strong attention to detail

The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

A recovery-focused approach

Experience with substance abuse disorder/mental health clients

Experience with electronic health records

Familiarity with community resources

Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are desirable, not required

EXTRA-HELP EMPLOYMENT

Intermittent, extra-help employees are limited in their employment to a maximum of 1,380 hours within any twelve-month consecutive period. Extra-help employees who meet the eligibility requirements may qualify for a County contribution toward medical coverage.
