Job Opportunity: Part-Time Attendant & In-Home Health Provider

Are you a compassionate and medically trained professional looking to make a meaningful impact in someone's life? We have an exciting opportunity to care for an active member of the Berkeley community. Your care recipient is quadriplegic and relies on a ventilator for respiratory support.

Responsibilities:

1. Personal Care Assistance: Assist with personal grooming, bathing, and dressing to ensure the care recipient’s comfort and well-being.

Ventilator Management: Monitor and manage the ventilator equipment to ensure proper functioning and provide necessary respiratory support.

2. Mobility Assistance: Help with transferring the care recipient between the bed, wheelchair, and other assistive devices to promote mobility.

3. Medication and Physical Therapy Administration: Administer medications as per the prescribed schedule and maintain accurate records.

4. Meal Preparation: Prepare pre-made meals according to the care recipient's dietary requirements and preferences.

5. Medical Monitoring: Observe and record vital signs, any changes in condition, and promptly report to the healthcare team.

6. Light Housekeeping: Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized environment, ensuring the safety and comfort of the living space.

7. Assistive Technology Support: Familiarity with assistive devices and technology used by the care recipient, and the ability to troubleshoot and provide support as needed.

Requirements:

- Able to lift 95lbs

- 1+ years of experience in providing care to individuals with similar needs, or in a sub-acute care setting

- Critical Thinker & Fast Learner

- Communicative & Team Player: As part of a healthcare team, the candidate should collaborate effectively with other professionals involved in the care recipient's care.

- Compassionate and Patient: A caring and patient demeanor is essential to create a supportive and nurturing environment for the care recipient.

- Reliable and Punctual: The ability to adhere to a set schedule and maintain consistent attendance is crucial for this role.

- Respect for Privacy: Discretion and respect for the care recipient's privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Registered as an In-Home Support Services Care Provider in the county of Alameda

- Medical Training: Relevant medical training, such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or Registered Nurse (RN), or intent to pursue medical training.

- Interest in alternative medicines and healing arts.

Work Schedule:

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings 5:30 – 9pm PST

Location:

The job will be based in a home care, sub-acute setting at the care recipient's residence.

Compensation:

Base pay $20/hr, subject to change based on experience and performance.
