Respiratory Therapist (RT) – In-Home High Acuity Care

Location: Santa Cruz, CA (In-Home Care Setting)

Schedule:

- Shifts available: Sunday through Saturday

- Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

- Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

- 12-hour shifts

- 1099 contractor position

Compensation: $60/hour

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

Vidamo Specialized Respiratory Services is hiring Respiratory Therapists to provide in-home care for a ventilator- and trach-dependent individual in Santa Cruz, CA. This is a high-acuity, one-on-one care setting. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and versatile, ready to support both respiratory needs and general bedside care in collaboration with nurses.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver hands-on bedside respiratory care and continuous monitoring

- Perform routine and emergency trach care (suctioning, stoma care, trach collar support)

- Manage and troubleshoot ventilator (Vivo 45 LS) and oxygen systems

- Support nurses during full bedside care routines

- Maintain accurate documentation for all assessments and interventions

- Participate in emergency response situations, including decannulation

- Monitor and maintain all respiratory equipment and supplies

- Assist with transport to community outings, medical appointments, and emergencies

- Educate family and caregivers on safety protocols and equipment usage as needed

Ideal Candidate:

- Proactive, takes initiative, and is solution-oriented

- Comfortable with high-acuity care and emergency response

- Willing to assist with all aspects of bedside and home care

- Strong communicator and team player who works well with nursing staff

Qualifications:

- Valid California RCP license

- Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)

- Minimum 1 year of experience with vent/trach-dependent patients

- Ability to support mobility and transport in/out of the home

- TB clearance, COVID-19 vaccination, and background check required

- Reliable transportation to Santa Cruz, CA
