Position: Health Services Coordinator – Starting Rate $28.00/Hour & Depending on Experience (Exempt Position)
(This position REPORTS to the Health & Nutrition Services Manager)
Location: Laurel Site - East Palo Alto, CA

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
1. ASSIST Health and Nutrition Data Specialist to ensure all health requirements are met upon entrance into the program. TRACK all
health, dental and nutrition-related data, and ensure follow-up services are received in a timely manner. ASSIST with all health
screenings required for completion within 30, 45 and 90 calendar days of child’s enrollment in the program.
2. Conduct vision, hearing, hemoglobin, growth assessment and blood pressure screenings on children, as requested by field staff.
3. ASSIST Nutritionist and Health and Nutrition Services Manager with nutrition assessment for children at-nutrition-risk and compile
educational packets for families. Arrange and participate in health services trainings for staff, parents and children.
4. ANALYZE Child Plus health data and assist Health and Nutrition Services Manager in program planning.
5. REVIEW children’s health file. Conducts periodic audits of children’s health records in order to assure the delivery of quality services
and documentation of services provided. Work with staff to correct all findings.
6. Assist Health and Nutrition Services Manager with classroom health, safety and nutrition monitoring. Work with staff to correct all
findings. Process and fill classroom order forms for health and nutrition supplies.
7. Maintain regular inventory of all health and nutrition supplies. Prepare orders and requisitions for health and nutrition service supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, LICENSES AND/OR SKILLS:
AA or BS Degree.
Three years progressively responsible experience in the health field and/or early childhood education.
Licensing as a nurse’s aide, vocational nurse, or other certification, highly desirable.
Possess Pediatric First Aid and CPR certificate or obtain w/in 90 days of employment.
Knowledge of the principles, philosophy, and practices of Head Start.
Knowledge of Child Plus, preferred.
Valid California driver’s license and willing to drive your own vehicle to various sites throughout San Mateo County in order to
assist in monitoring, training, and conducting health screenings. Mileage will be reimbursed.
Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
