I'm a mid-30s man w/ a spinal cord injury hiring personal care attendants for both regular & backup shifts. Right now I'm looking to hire 1-2 people for 2-4 regular shifts a week. Also, looking to train backup caregivers in case one of my regular folks needs time off.
Available shifts:
Mornings: 5:30-9 AM (Tuesday-Thursday), 7:30-12 PM (Sunday)
Evenings: 8-10 PM (all days)
NOTE: I can offer 1-3 shifts per person
Pay: $30/hr
Attendants must enroll in In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) and pass a background check: IHSS pays $20/hour and I give an extra $10/hour.
IHSS providers are also eligible for benefits and overtime with enough hours.
AM Responsibilities:
- Pivot transfers to/from wheelchair
- Bathroom assistance
- Showering & shaving
- Dressing
- Breakfast prep
- occasional wound care
- Housekeeping (weekends)
PM responsibilities:
- Housekeeping
- Transfer to bed
- Switching catheter bags
- Positioning
What I'm looking for in an attendant:
- Responsible & thorough
- Timely
- COVID Boosted & willing to mask
- Good with direction & communication
- Good sense of humor is a plus!
I'm located in Oakland Chinatown, near BART stops and an 880 off-ramp.
