Hello! I am a man with a physical disability hiring personal care attendants for backup shifts. This is a great on-call opportunity right near transit in Oakland. Prior caregiving experience is helpful but not required – let me know if you're interested!
DETAILS:
Mornings: 5:30-8:30 AM (weekdays), 7:30-10:30 AM (weekends)
Evenings: 9-10 PM
… These are ideal times, but in a pinch I can be flexible. Reach out to me and let me know your availability for these times, or within an hour of them.
Pay: $29.50/hr
Attendants must be able to work for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) and pass a background check: IHSS pays $19.50/hour and I give an extra $10/hour.
IHSS providers are also eligible for benefits and overtime with enough hours.
AM Responsibilities:
- Stretches
- Pivot transfers to/from wheelchair
- Bathroom assistance (includes bladder and bowel care)
- Showering & shaving
- Dressing
- Breakfast prep
PM responsibilities:
- Toothbrushing
- Transfer to bed
- Undressing & positioning
- Blatter care
What I'm looking for in an attendant:

- Timely
- COVID Boosted & willing to mask on the job
- Good communicator
I'm located in Oakland Chinatown, near BART stops and an 880 off-ramp.
