We are seeking a SpecialProjects Associate (working title: GIS Technician) to support the Public Works & Engineering Department on a part-time basis. This role is a great opportunity to gain practical experience in local government while contributing to projects that directly impact our community's infrastructure, planning, and day-to-day operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Maintain and update GIS data using ESRI ArcGIS.

-Create maps and reports for Public Works and Planningprojects.

-Assist with asset management and infrastructure planning.

-Provide GIS supportto city staff.

POSITION DETAILS:

-Part-time, averaging 20 hours per week (flexible schedule).

-Cannot exceed 1000 hours within a fiscal year.

-Hourly rate based on experience.

-Valid California Class C driver’s license is required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and excited about putting their skills to work in a local government setting. The ideal candidate will bring:

-Some background through coursework and experience in GIS, geography, computer science, engineering or a related field.

-Hands on experience with ESRI ArcGIS software. Experience with AutoCAD or other-related software experience is a plus.

-Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized while working independently

-An interest in public works, infrastructure or local government service.

-Flexibility to adapt and thrive in a team-oriented environment while also being comfortable working on your own.

-Solid communication, research, and analytical skills.

-A valid California Driver's license (or the ability to obtain one) with a satisfactory driving record.
