Job Description: Tasting Room & Sales Associate
Halleck Vineyard is a boutique family-owned winery in the hills of Sebastopol. We produce exquisite Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast. We are looking for someone passionate about wine to join our small team. This is a part time position as a tasting room associate leading ultimately to administrative, wine club or marketing tasks, depending on desire.
Wage: $25/hr + tips & incentives
Hours: 10-20 hours a week, with the possibility of more if desired. Thursday and Friday shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Tastings and Sales On-site:
Effectively communicates the depth of the Halleck Vineyard story and wine portfolio
Describe wines, winemaking techniques and winery history while engaging with guests.
Prepare cheese plates and other food pairing accompaniment
Prepare for tasting presentations and presentation clean-up
Assist with hospitality special events
Wash and polish glassware
Perform other duties as assigned.
Tasting and Sales Off-site
Supporting sales staff at off-site events and tastings
Assisting with the creation of marketing materials surrounding wholesale events
Conducting staff trainings and tasting sessions at wholesale accounts
Experience & Education:
Working towards a bachelor’s degree - Business, Marketing majors preferred
Must be at least 21 years of age
Public speaking experience a plus
Wine certification (WSET, CMS,SWE, etc.) or desire to obtain it preferred

Enthusiastic, charismatic, and passionate about wine.
Excellent computer skills or willingness to learn them.
Professional appearance and demeanor, business casual dress required. Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, and holidays.
Reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling obligations .
Possess good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. Excellent communication and listening skills.

Accurate and clear vision and hearing

Work Environment:
The dress code for this position is business casual. Halleck Vineyard is a non-smoking work environment. Employees working in the tasting room or at events where wine is poured are asked to not smoke during a workday or be free from any aroma that may be associated with smoking. No heavily scented perfumes, hand lotions, or hair products are allowed as they can interfere with the tasting of wines.
