The New Parkway Theater is hiring an Office Manager for our picture pizza pub (movie theater + café) in Oakland’s Uptown District. The New Parkway brings together great movies with couches, comfort food, and beer and wine. The Office Manager is a key member of the office team at the New Parkway Theater. It’s this person’s responsibility to keep everything in the background running smoothly so that our patrons can best enjoy their movie going experience. Job responsibilities include:
Interfacing with the public during daytime hours, including phone calls, in-person visits, and emails
Keeping theater offices clean and organized
Supporting human resources with interviewing, onboarding, and personnel files
Helping to coordinate building repairs and upkeep
Assisting Managers on Duty with daytime tasks
Assisting the General Manager with administrative tasks
Other Possible Job Elements:
Additionally, because this is ideally a full-time position and the above accounts for 15-20 hours a week, we would like to work with the chosen candidate to add some of the following, based on interest, experience, and skillset:
Leading and/or Supporting the theater’s PR/Social Media program
Spearheading Facility Maintenance projects
Handling basic Bookkeeping and Accounts Payable
Assisting with Concessions and Food Running on busy days
Supporting the Theater Operations department
Taking a lead role in our Human Resources department
Handling Inventory and associated shopping/ordering
Supporting our Tech/On-Screen Content

Familiarity with Quickbooks
Love of movies, food, and/or community spaces/causes/activism
Familiarity with various software programs and comfort around technology
Ability to fix things
Steady personality and positive demeanor
Compensation: $20-25/hour, depending on experience, plus limited benefits (health and PTO) for full-time employment
Hours: Either Part-Time (16-25 hours) or Full-Time. Most work would be between the hours of 10:00am and 7:30pm.
