Standard Fare is looking to add to our Front of House team!
We are hiring a Front of House Counter/Runner /Barista for both daytime and possibly nighttime shifts. Come join us!
We are a tight knit team offering quick moving and delicious food to our community of genuinely dedicated regulars.
There are 4 shifts available a mix of 8am to 4pm (counter or barista) and 10 am or 4 pm (runner), and 3:30-10:00pm (evening). Benefits include: equally shared tips (averaging10+/hour), staff meals, and a staff discount. A Health Stipend is provided to full-time employees (30 hours+) plus 2 acupuncture appointments a month. Hourly wage is dependent on experience ($20 an hour base starting).
Our front of the house team is friendly, knowledgeable, and hardworking. You are: taking orders, brewing coffee, mixing house-made sodas, serving wine, and our beautiful pastries, all while the kitchen is busy making organic, locally sourced, and delicious food. Our espresso comes from Grand Coffee, an outstanding, sustainable Bay Area company. We pull the La Llave Roast. Our brewed coffee is roasted by Ruby’s Roast, a small business that roasts right in our building. Our wine list features wines that hold close to our ethos of delicious sustainability.
The folks who come to Standard Fare to eat and drink are an amazing group of makers, doers, and helpers in the community. They come not only for a meal, but also for our dedicated, friendly service and the incredible culinary experience we offer. We serve a small, eclectic, daily changing lunch menu and breakfast (and soon dinner!) menu featuring the best seasonal ingredients the local markets offer. Everything is made in house with critical attention to flavor, execution, and presentation. We work hard, fast, and efficiently. Meeting our, and our customer’s, high expectations of delicious food, quickly served, and beautifully presented is a daily goal. Gracious hospitality is the norm both with our guests and each other.
You are:
o Experienced: Have at least 1 year restaurant or cafe/barista experience. (Barista experience is not required but is a definite asset!)
