Sekoya Lounge + Kitchen, located in Palo Alto, is seeking an experienced Sous Chef and Lead Line cook to join our team. We are looking for like-minded culinary Professionals to work alongside Michelin-trained CDC: work experience includes: Chez TJ, Quince, Wayfare Tavern, Adeles (Nashville).

Sekoya has now been open for 6 months and is the newest restaurant in Palo Alto. Our brand-new kitchen houses state-of-the-art equipment including a custom Hibachi Grill.

Qualifications for Sous Chef/Lead Line Cook:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sous Chef is responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen. They are responsible for both short- and long-range planning including the development and execution of new menus and pricing along with the Owners and Chef de Cuisine, equipment, cost control, and profit contribution to the restaurant. They have overall responsibility for the day-to-day activities in the kitchen and for always maintaining complete control of the kitchen and to command the respect of the kitchen staff. The Sous Chef directly supervises kitchen staff with responsibility for hiring, inspiring, coaching, and performance management. They are responsible for maintaining food safety, sanitary and safety standards in the workplace. They will work together with the Chef de Cuisine and General Manager to focus on the vision of the restaurant. In this leadership role, the Sous Chef serves as a role model and mentor to the kitchen staff and must always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
