Companion Bakeshop is a small quality-driven bakery in Santa Cruz, CA. We have been named Best Bread by Santa Cruz County for the past decade and we take pride in making the best, organic pastries and sourdough in the area.
We are currently hiring for our Sourdough Bread kitchen. This position collects tips as well as an hourly wage.
The person we are looking for is hard working, looking for a long-term team to be a part of, loves sourdough bread and wants to dive deep into learning all stages of the process, enjoy working in a kitchen, works with a natural hustle, and has a passion and interest in working with a fun and efficient team in a fast-paced bakery production kitchen!
Must be available and able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week, and willing and available to work a mixture of shift times within their week. Prior recent commercial kitchen and/or baking experience highly preferred.
2 part time OR 1 full Time position available currently.

Shifts:
Bake shifts 1am-9am
Packing shifts 4am-12pm
Shape shifts starting between 9am and 11am and end between pm 5pm and 7pm, depending on the day
Mix shifts 6am-2pm / 8-4pm
Wage based on experience + average of $2/hr in tips:
- Starting rate, no experience, $18/hr
- Morning Bake Shift rate $21/hr after training
Requirements for the positions:
Prior commercial kitchen experience preferred!
Willingness and ability to work an 8 hour shift on your feet.
Willingness and ability to move quickly, and able to lift 50 lbs.
Willingness to learn and work a mix of all shifts listed above
Works well with a team and respects leadership roles but is also comfortable working independently.
