We currently have an incredible career opportunity for a Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team! This position is anchored in our Alviso/ North San Jose production kitchen.
Founded in 2009, Smashing Dishes/Tony Caters is a dynamic, well-regarded off-site catering company that produces events in the South Bay and also has a presence all around the greater Bay Area. We also have two cafe locations, one in Palo Alto and one located inside the The Tech Interactive Museum in downtown San Jose.
As the Kitchen Manager you will be responsible for overseeing day to day kitchen operations while maintaining a safe, sanitary and positive work environment for the staff.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Run Production Kitchen
- Attending weekly Production meeting to understand the parameters of each unique event sold
- Partnering with Production/Operations to hand-off consistent food, on-time so that Front of House team can service their events
- Leading a small team of Production/Prep Cooks to deliver the food
- Providing select input on menus and systems to Exec Chef
Kitchen Management
- Build trust and foster community with your team of cooks
- Oversee daily production and ensure team is meeting deadlines; identify systems that can be improved
- Maintain agreed upon standards and consistency of product being sent out the door
Office Work
- Participate in product ordering, and occasionally interact with vendors
- Write daily production lists
- Write weekly kitchen staff schedules

Requirements:
- Previous Culinary Management experience required
- Must be bilingual in Spanish/ English
- Must be able to work continuously while standing for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift, pull and push materials/products to complete assigned job tasks
- Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of this position satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation
