The history of Orin Swift Cellars dates back to 1995 when on a lark, David Swift Phinney took a friend up on an offer and went to Florence, Italy to spend a semester “studying”. During that time, he was introduced to wine, how it was made, and got hooked. A few more years of university led to graduation and eventually a job at Robert Mondavi Winery in 1997 as a temporary harvest worker. Deciding that if he was going to work this hard, it would eventually have to be for himself, he founded Orin Swift Cellars in 1998; Orin is his father’s middle name and Swift is his mother’s maiden name. With two tons of zinfandel and not much else, he spent the next decade making wine for others as well as himself and grew the brand to what it is today.

The Part-Time Hospitality Assistant supports various hospitality functions for scheduled winery events andundertakes diverse functions to support tasting room operations. Supports tasting room staff inmaintaining the proper presentation of various venues where winery guest are entertained.

Anticipated Start Date - Middle of May to the beginning of June 2024

Compensation

Hiring Salary Range Posted: set rate listed as $21.50/hr - $21.50/hr + tips eligible!

What You Will Do:

Sets-up and tears-down wine tastings and special events.

Procures and delivers wine and supplies for tastings and special events.

Stocks wine and operating supplies.

Maintains property standards in regards to cleanliness, organization and general aesthetics.

Prepares silverware for meal service.

Supports tasting room representatives with the delivery of wine and non-wine products tocustomers.

Reads the order and pulls product(s) for customer.

Transports and loads product(s) into customer’s vehicle.

Provides back-up support on cash registers; occasionally works the greeting station.

Supports other Visitor Center staff with duties such as clearing and cleaning tables, filling waterglasses, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and customer areas and returning plates to thekitchen.
