Summerfield Waldorf School & Farm is seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Utility Worker to join our team. Our lunch program prides itself on providing nutritious, fresh meals to our students (grades 1-12), and we value the relationships we foster with students and faculty/staff alike.
Position Details:
Schedule: Monday-Friday 11am – 3pm
This is an ideal position for someone looking for part-time work. Holidays (one week in November, two weeks in December, one week in February, and two weeks in April) and summer (mid-June to mid-August) are unpaid.
Compensation: $22/hr
Start Date: September 2, 2025
Background check clearance and TB Risk Assessment or negative TB test result required.
Job Responsibilities:
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment;
Assist in serving lunch to students in grades 1–12;
Help the Chef and Assistant Chef with daily kitchen cleanup;
Maintain a clean and organized work environment;
Follow all food safety and hygiene standards;
Help set up for lunch service;
Occasional light prep work.

Punctual and dependable;
Comfortable working and interacting with children;
Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen setting;
Team-oriented with a positive attitude;
Previous kitchen experience (minimum 1 year);
Physical Requirements for Employees at SWSF:
Summerfield is both a school and farm. Though we do have paved pathways between various buildings, many pathways are unpaved and rough. Some have steep inclines and declines, steps and holes. Employees must have the ability to:
Stand and walk on various-density and uneven surfaces for extended periods of time and significant lengths;
Reach overhead, grasp, push/pull up to 35 pounds for short distances;
Lift and carry up to 45 lbs. at waist height for short distances.
