Eve's Waterfront seeks a talented SOUS CHEF! Hiring immediately for SOUS CHEF / KM.
Eve's Waterfront offers banquet space 7 days a week. Great place to work, and no standard Dinner shifts through the week to worry about! Compensation: Based on experience and position ($55,000 to $65,000 annual)
Responsibilities: The sous chef / kitchen manager will manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities; create a complete recipe book (including photos) to present at 90 day review; estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food; select and develop recipes; standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality; establish presentation technique and quality standards; plan and price menus; ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance; and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen. The sous chef / kitchen manager may cook selected items or for select occasions. The sous chef / kitchen manager may oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrate culinary techniques. The sous chef / kitchen manager directly supervises kitchen personnel with responsibility for hiring, discipline, performance reviews and initiating pay increases. Reports directly to the Owners.
Special qualifications: The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services is essential to success in this role.
Experience: Previous experience with banquet halls and private events, control food and labor cost, demonstration cooking, menu development including new item creation, and pricing and development of culinary team preferred. Premise and liability accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable.
Education: The ideal candidates will possess a bachelor's degree or related culinary degree with years of industry and culinary management experience. However - degree not required to apply, real world experience can count instead.
