Mujiri Oakland has become a staple affordable Japanese Restaurant in the East Bay and Bay Area. We are a fast pace Japanese restaurant specializing in traditional Edomae-style sushi with dine in and take out options. With growing popularity, we are fortunate enough to have been able to open our second location in Hayward. As we grow, we hope to find the right people to join our team.
We are hiring one part-time server for our Oakland location and two part-time servers for our Hayward location.
The schedule available for Hayward is Tuesday - Saturday 4:30pm-10pm.
The schedule available for Oakland is Wednesday 11am-2:30pm, Wednesday-Saturday 4:30pm-10pm.
Pay is minimum + great tips.
We are a close knit team looking for someone who is friendly and willing to learn. Opportunity to grow within. Training will start ASAP at our Oakland location. Must have some restaurant experience to be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Take customer orders accurately and enter them into the POS system
- Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register
- Provide excellent customer service and address any customer concerns or inquiries
- Serve food and beverages to customers in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dining area
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth food service
- Assist with opening and closing duties as needed
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency in operating a cash register and handling cash transactions
- Basic math skills for calculating bills, making change, and processing payments
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
