Job Summary

As a Host at The Third Floor, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. Your primary responsibility is to warmly greet and seat guests, manage reservations, and ensure that all guests feel welcome and valued. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of the restaurant and supporting the front-of-house team.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and Welcome Guests: Warmly greet arriving guests and thank departing guests, ensuring each guest feels appreciated.

Manage Reservations: Handle reservation inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, accurately inputting details into the reservation system.

Seating Guests: Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and information on daily specials, and inform them of the name of their server.

Monitor Dining Room: Keep track of table turnover, guest seating preferences, and special requests to optimize table assignments and flow.

Coordinate with Staff: Communicate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

Handle Inquiries: Address guest questions and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management as needed.

Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas are clean and organized.

Assist with Special Events: Support the coordination of special events, private parties, and large group reservations as required.

Qualifications

Experience: Previous experience as a host or in a customer service role within the hospitality industry is preferred.

Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Appearance: Professional appearance and demeanor.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using reservation systems and basic computer skills.

Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Team Player: Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
