Front of House Manager – La Marcha Tapas Bar

La Marcha Tapas Bar is a Michelin-recognized Spanish restaurant in Berkeley, known for innovative tapas, paellas, and the lively spirit of Spain. We’re looking for a Front of House Manager who can bring leadership, hospitality, and a deep appreciation for Spanish dining culture to our team.

Responsibilities:

- Lead service on the floor to ensure a smooth, elevated guest experience.

- Supervise and support hosts, servers, bartenders, bussers, and runners.

- Step in as a host when needed — on these shifts, you’ll be part of the tip pool.

- Handle guest issues and resolve problems with professionalism.

- Ensure cash/credit close-outs and daily reports are accurate.

- Train staff on service standards, menu knowledge, and the culture of Spanish dining.

- Maintain seamless communication between the dining room and the kitchen.

- Be hands-on during peak service — running food, clearing tables, seating guests, or whatever it takes to keep the night flowing.

Compensation:

- $26 per hour.

- On days when you are scheduled as a host and part of the tip pool, you’ll also receive tips. Host tip-outs at La Marcha typically average $100–$150 per shift.

- On leadership-only shifts, you’ll earn your hourly rate without tip pool participation.

What We’re Looking For:

- A leader who can keep service sharp, calm, and consistent.

- Strong problem-solving and guest service skills.

- Attention to detail with close-outs and systems.

- Ability to train and motivate staff, with respect for teamwork.

- An understanding of Spanish dining culture — from tapas and paella to the tradition of hospitality that defines our restaurant.

- Previous supervisor or management experience in restaurants is strongly preferred.
