Server Position

One of Northern California's most unique and popular venues, Muir’s Tea Room, is adding to our staff as we enter a busy season of themed High Teas and private events.

Located in an historic 1890 Queen Anne Victorian in downtown Sebastopol, our Tea Room is a whimsical and celebratory destination for our devoted customers.

Our wonderful staff enjoys interacting with guests, assisting with tea choices and delivering our elaborate three tier High Tea Towers which feature all house made organic finger sandwiches, tarts, scones, desserts and more.

Every month brings a new theme, with new decorations and menus including our Annual Jane Austen, Harry Potter, Tea & Tarot, Fairy, Halloween and Winter Teas. Many of our staff enjoy dressing up for our events and contributing to our creative production plans.

We are a certified vegan venue and we offer extensive gluten free options. Our bakery, gift shop and dining room are open Fridays through Sundays with the average shift of 10:30 am till 5:30 pm.

We have a seasoned group that works together closely to provide a supportive and enjoyable flow between our phenomenal kitchen/ baking staff and servers.

There is potential for expanded work elements, full time and increased compensation for the right candidate.

Essentials for this position:

Experience with and knowledge of fine dining including table setting, serving, bussing.

Ability to gracefully multi-task as we are catering to customers while keeping track of various stages of the Tea service, anticipating the flow of turning tables, and assisting with the gift and bakery counter.

Genuinely enjoy interaction with customers.

Knowledge or an enthusiastic motivation to learn about tea- suppliers, blending and pairings with menus.

Comfortable working quickly in an elegant and efficient manner.

Ability to work closely with a supportive and harmonious team.

Strong communication skills in order to facilitate table needs from kitchen.

Experience with event planning would be a plus.

Rigorous adherence to health standards and cleanliness.

Compensation is generous, based on experience and includes vacation pay, bonus schedule and other amenities.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $29.00 per hour depending on experience and skill level
