The perfect person for this job will be morning person with a naturally friendly disposition.

Oceanview To Go is looking for an experienced cafe manager to help lead our front of the house team. The right candidate will be an important member of the management team in our cafe/takeout restaurant, and will under the direction of the general manager, and in partnership the current supervisor and deli kitchen manager to provide a quality guest experience.

This role is partially a hybrid position. The selected candidate will spend a week training as a staff member in order to understand the requirements of the job and the staff which they will manage; they will then spend two weeks in management training. Two days of this training will be spent learning how to serve tables in the Diner in order to be available to cover shifts if need be, and to allow them the opportunity to work private events if they wish.

Responsibilities:

Work as the service manager for our takeout restaurant.

Write the schedule for a staff of 6-8 employees.

Order and maintain par levels for paper, beverage, coffee & restaurant linen orders and inventory.

Train new baristas on our recipes, and manage quality control on an ongoing basis.

Place the daily bakery order.

Create and foster a friendly, and positive attitude for the staff and our guests.

Ensure cleanliness and that food safety is maintained at all times by front of house staff.

Handle customer complaints, and concerns with empathy, compassion and a desire to solve the problem and ensure that the guest leaves happy whenever possible.

Take phone orders, and assist with catering orders when necessary.

Qualifications:

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly, and positive attitude.

ServSafe manager certificate (or must obtain one within a month of hire).

Previous cafe/gourmet deli experience in a management or supervisory role.

Barista trainer certificate a plus.

knowledge of espresso, and how to handle espresso drinks to ensure a quality product every time.
