The Chapel music venue is seeking an experienced Event and Banquet Manager to execute private events in the music venue and restaurant spaces. The Chapel hosts a wide variety of events including weddings, non-profit galas, corporate parties, and private parties and banquets of all sizes. Additionally, the Event Manager will coordinate venue-wide special events including Mardi Gras, SF Pride, Halloween, and other celebrations. Position reports to the Events Director and works closely with department managers to plan and execute successful private events.
Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule that's primarily evenings and weekends, but includes some daytime admin hours. Number of hours depends on event schedule but will generally be between 25 and 40 hours/week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate with department managers to properly staff and set up events to ensure smooth execution and client satisfaction
Design custom menus and other signage for events; print, and ensure proper placement
Manage day-of event operations, including setting up, expediting F&B, and managing floor staff
Close out each event, including ringing sales into POS, managing clock-outs, and overseeing clean-up
Assist Events Director as needed in all aspects of event operations
Coordinate and manage special business-wide events such as weekly DJs, Mardi Gras, Super Bowl, SF Pride, etc.
Order decorations and manage set up of special events
Act as point-of-contact for restaurant patio musicians and communicate any changes to music talent buyer
