This position will be working in the Nutrition Services Department at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center. The Environmental Services Supervisor will support preparing, assembling, serving and recovering meals for patients in the hospital as well as serving our staff and customers in the cafe. The Nutrition Services Department is fast-paced, quality-driven and dynamic with different challenges each day.

What you will typically be responsible for:
Troubleshooting day-to-day operational problems involving equipment, vendors and suppliers
Monitoring employee performance, counseling employees, and preparing written performance evaluations for purposes of employee probationary and/or incremental recommendations
Ensuring proper preparation, handling, storage and inventory procedures are followed per HACCP and The Food Code guidelines
Maintaining records for the proper ordering, receiving and storing of food supplies and equipment to meet operational requirements
Supervising, training and providing technical assistance to food service staff
Preparing written reports, such as accident reports, as required
May assist in preparing food, setting up trays and serving meals to cafeteria customers and patients
Preparing and altering, as necessary, daily work schedules to accommodate special work requests and responding to emergency situations

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency or a high school proficiency certificate.
Experience: Three years of full-time experience (or its equivalent), of which one year must have been in a lead or supervisory capacity, performing institutional food service duties. Institutional experience may have been obtained from one of the following: military installation, hospital, detention facility, juvenile hall, elementary or high school, community and/or state college or university, or a similar institution.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience working in an institutional food service setting and/or working with patients/customers with special dietary needs
Culinary degree and/or ServSafe Certification
Experience scheduling, daily planning and forecasting
Experience cooking, measuring food items and/or overseeing cooks
Experience taking inventory of high-volume kitchens or warehouses
Experience with commercial grade/size food service equipment
Experience counseling subordinates, hiring processes, and training new staff
