About the Position:

Che Fico is first and foremost a San Francisco restaurant and establishes itself as a member of the community through warm hospitality and a generous spirit.

We are looking for a pastry production lead interested in becoming responsible for a small pastry program producing various Italian baked goods, breads and dessert production.

Our ideal candidate will have several years’ experience in high quality restaurants and/or bakeries, be self motivated, highly organized, a good communicator and leader and strive for consistency and excellence on a daily basis. Joining the Che Fico team will provide an opportunity to learn how to make all types of traditional and unconventional Italian pastries, breads, confections, and many other techniques in a high volume setting from Chefs with experience at the best restaurants in the world. Our company is proud to train and promote from within and this position has potential for growth and the opportunity to be a part of shaping the direction of an evolving program!

We source products from many extraordinary local farms whom we have direct relationships with and will work to expand your product knowledge base - our team visits three bay area markets every week to source the best product possible. We offer interdepartmental education opportunities throughout the restaurant allowing our team members to grow their skill base.

Che Fico offers highly competitive pay, multiple options for Health Care, dental and vision insurance, access to mental health services, 401k with 4% match. After one year, employees have access to our quarterly profit sharing pool.

Candidates must have four years of cooking experience, a great attitude, a good sense of humor, drive, dedication to their craft, and a true willingness to learn. Experience in Italian cuisine and previous management experience is a plus, but not required.

About Che Fico:

Che Fico is a California Italian restaurant opened in Spring of 2018 and was shortly thereafter named one of Bon Appetit's Hot 10 New Restaurants. Owner Chefs David Nayfeld (Eleven Madison Park, Robuchon) has partnered with operator Matt Brewer (Hogsalt Hospitality) to bring Che Fico to San Francisco's Nopa neighborhood. The restaurant features handmade pasta, pizza, charcuterie, wood-fired meats and other dishes utilizing local California ingredients as if the Bay Area were a region of Italy. Che Fico has robust craft cocktail program, as well as a very developed wine and beverage program highlighting California and Italy.
