Taptender responsibilities:
- Serve beer properly from our 16-tap towers
- Greet customers and answer their questions about our beers and our brewing process in a friendly manner
- Conduct bar operations while behind the bar - from cleaning to pouring beer to stocking glassware, clearing tables and associated
sidework
- Understand and follow bar operations,
- Availability on at least one weekend day
- Change out kegs
- Adhere to all alcohol service regulations and requirements
- Follow Opening and Closing bar protocols without regular supervision
- Bus tables, wash glasses, and generally maintain cleanliness of the taproom
- Other duties as needed
Minimum Requirements for taptenders:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
- Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money
- Availability on at least one weekend day
- Take Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training within 30 days of beginning work, if not certified already
- Ability to move 50 lbs or more (to move and replace kegs using equipment)
Duties & responsibilities:

- Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting
- Anticipate and respond to guest needs
- Develop an intimate knowledge of Blue Oak Beer and pro-actively expand on beer education knowledge (menu items, prices, beer styles, ingredients, craft beer knowledge)
- Be an effective brand ambassador, manage guest satisfaction and overall brewery visitor experience
- Cleaning: maintain cleanliness and sanitation of taproom and beer garden at all times.
- Stocks taproom as necessary with items such as glassware, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and supplies
- Perform opening set up and closing clean-up duties & sidework of taproom, bar, and beer garden.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Must be 21 years of age
- Maintains knowledge of and strictly abides by state liquor regulations and verifies legal drinking age of customers
- Must pass post-offer, pre-employment background check
- Impeccable service standards with attention to detail and ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced atmosphere with grace
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Able to regularly twist, turn, lift supplies and equipment up to 30-lb (I.e., cases of beer)
- Able to move 155-lb kegs of beer (using appropriate techniques and tools).
- Able to work in a production environment where noise level is usually moderate to loud.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
Bonus point skills:
- Know sour beer yeast-bacteria
- Experience with public and private events
- 2 years in high volume beer centric environment
- Chalk art
