This could be the right fit for you! Amphitheater of the Redwoods at Pema Osel Ling offers 3-day destination weddings at our retreat center on 104 magical acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This position is perfect for someone who loves bringing joy to others and will be moved by the beautiful moments that shine through at each wedding. Your work will help create a magical day for couples and their loved ones as they connect with our special land.
This position will work on site on Saturdays for 7-10 hours depending on the event. There will be a seasonal break mid November-February, and June.
You will work with our Front of House Manager, wedding coordinator and chef to ensure that all logistics are in place for a successful event. You will ensure that all catering aspects, including making sure table settings and buffet are done properly and that the BEO is followed closely and in a timely manner from opening to closing. This is a hands-on position and you will find yourself helping with setting tables and decor, passing appetizers, food service, bussing and washing dishes, and witnessing the joy of two people celebration their love.
Pema Osel Ling is run by the Vajrayana Foundation, whose mission is to promote the Buddhist ideals of peace and compassion and to preserve Tibetan art and culture. Your work will be supporting positive activity and connecting people to our sacred land.
Requirements:
- Experience a plus, but not required
- Available to work on-site a minimum of 7 hours every Saturday from September-November
- Possess attention to detail and organizational skill, with the ability to stay on schedule
- Able to effectively communicate with other staff, wedding couples, guests, and vendors with high levels of patience and diplomacy.
- Must be able to be a team player
- Must be willing to learn new things on the spot
- Ability to lift 25lbs
- Comfortable working on your feet for duration of shift
- Wear all black attire with no logos, hats or ripped jeans
