Welcome to Forma Bakery in the Temescal neighborhood of Oakland! We are a bakery which offers a variety viennoiserie and breads on a rotating seasonal menu highlighting French technique with Mexican flavors.
We are hiring passionate bakers who are willing to learn and be thorough in an artisan bakery! As a baker at Forma you will work closely with the owner to make hand shaped, highly fermented products fresh every morning. The seasonally rotating menu involves a range of traditional and plant based viennoiserie, naturally leavened breads, conchas, and small pastry items. Regardless of position, you will be required to shape a large range of items and be cross involved in many of the products.
Currently we are looking for bakers to do the bread bake/ viennoiserie bake where you will bake off the sourdoughs, baguettes, croissants, and conchas; as well as weekend bread production where you will produce our range of naturally leavened breads and baguettes.
Applicants need to be able to work in a team, being respectful to fellow coworkers and customers. Communication is highly important as this is a team environment where we respectfully discuss the product as it will be held to a consistently high standard. Bread baking/ production experience is highly preferred; however, other culinary experience is acceptable as long as you are motivated to learn and have a passion for baking! Applicants must be able to perform the physical tasks of the job including but not limited to: carrying 50lbs bags of flour, working on their feet for an 8 hour shift, bending down, and reaching.
Pay: $20+/hr and shared tips
Vienn/ Bread Bake Hours: AM shift 3:30am-12pm - Weekend availability required
Bread Production Hours: 7am - 3:30pm - Weekend availability required
We are looking for someone to work from Thursday - Sunday/ Monday.
