San Rafael brewpub is opening a second location in Marin county and is looking for an experienced assistant brewer to join our team. Brewer will work in both locations, often unsupervised, so we need someone with 2+ years experience.
Responsibilities include:
· Brewing unsupervised while adhering to recipes
· Keg cleaning and filling
· Assist on canning days
· Draft line cleaning and maintenance
· Soda production
· General brewery cleaning and maintenance
· Beer transfers and fining, tank CIPs, fermentation monitoring, dry hopping, grain milling
· Yeast harvesting and management
· Accurate record keeping
· Occasional deliveries to outside accounts
· Occasional participation in festivals
Requirements and qualifications:
· Valid driver’s license
· Strong attention to detail
· Barrel aging experience
· Ability to lift 55lb and maneuver up to 160lb
· At least 2 years of professional brewing experience; including cellar work and wort production
· Ability to eliminate/minimize oxygen pickup throughout the entire brewing process
Pay is commensurate with experience with opportunity for advancement
