Overview
This Family Assistant position is ideal for an experienced person having successful employment with a high-net-worth individual or family. The position is part-time, typically 20-25 hours/week, Monday – Friday. Hours are flexible except when there is a deadline or task that must be completed that day. The candidate should live within 15 miles of Los Altos. The ideal candidate will be trustworthy, handle all tasks and family information with extreme discretion, and possess a strong work ethic. The Assistant be adaptable and able to maintain a positive attitude during challenging situations. Excellent at laundry, prepping dinners, and following instructions with no supervision.
Duties
- Grocery shopping. Milage reimbursed.
- Cook dinner approximately 3-5 times per week.
- Cook an occasional breakfast for the teens.
- Laundry, must have experience and stay until the laundry is complete
- Run errands for the household. Mileage reimbursed.
- Maintain inventory of household supplies and coordinate shopping as needed
- Oversee meal planning and preparation, including cooking when necessary.
- Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and visitors.
- Assist with personal errands and tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Must be reliable. Schedule is ½ days, morning or afternoon, or mix.
- Must enjoy teenagers.
- Time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks to complete by end of day. Ability to work independently with very minimal supervision.
- Excellent communications skills. Will need to text the Estate Manager immediately when maintenance, equipment failures or other problems arise.
- Proficiency in basic cooking techniques and meal planning
- Experience with residential cleaning and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, on days when the housekeeper is not at the residence. Typically, just the kitchen.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain order in the household
- Previous experience as a personal assistant, chef, family assistant, mothers helper or house management required.
- Strong personal skills to interact kindly with guests, housekeepers, Estate Manager, gardeners, grandparents, teens, and other household members.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
