We are a small organization in Berkeley working on improving healthcare for everybody. Our current focus is on cognitive testing, specifically the development of computerized assessments that can help identify people at risk for dementia or Alzheimer’s. Our work is primarily funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
We need your help! Our biggest study in the Bay Area is to help address a lack of representation in healthcare data. We’re especially looking for healthy individuals especially from the Latino, AAPI, and Black communities to participate from home in a paid study. Eligible individuals must be 50+.
Participation is simple: We’ll deliver a sanitized tablet computer to your home, and you will complete 3 cognitive assessment sessions from home, each lasting 1.5-2 hours. One of our trained examiners will guide you through the process via a video chat and help you with any technical or test related issues. The tests are similar to ‘brain games’ and measure things like reaction time, memory, and other cognitive functions. Finally, we’ll pick up the tablet and compensate you $150.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Age 50-89 years old
- Native or proficient English or Spanish
- Access to a quiet area for testing
- Completion of an online questionnaire for screening
- Located with 40 miles of Oakland
