Seeking a caregiver for my mother who lives in Rio Vista.
Need someone reliable, responsible, caring, and trustworthy.
She has dementia. She prefers to be as independent as possible but needs help with:
- blood pressure monitoring and management
- support when walking, fall prevention
- medication reminders
- walks around block
- getting to/from doctor's appointments (occasional)
- cleaning, laundry
- light meal prep
Female candidates are preferred, but we will consider well-mannered men. This is not a live-in position at this time. You must have a Social Security card as it is paid through the state. She has a cat so if you have allergies, this probably will not work.
You would be paid through the state IHSS program, at a rate of 17.20an hour. They require you to complete a brief, in-person training and background check before you can get paid. These are held infrequently. If you are comfortable with waiting to get paid, you can start working before completing the in-person event. They will pay you retroactively up to 90 days.
NOTE: People who work 65 hours or more a month through IHSS qualify for supplemental health, vision, and dental benefits.
