Estimator for Retaining Wall Company
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced estimator to join our team at Cowan & Thompson Construction, Inc., a leading retaining wall construction company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for construction projects, particularly in retaining walls and earthwork.
Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to accurately estimate costs for retaining wall construction projects.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare detailed and competitive bids.
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and construction techniques to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.
Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to clarify project requirements and negotiate pricing when necessary.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with specific experience in estimating for retaining walls highly desirable.
Knowledge of the Public works bidding process a plus.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
