Little Garden Patch Farm is hiring reliable, enthusiastic individuals with the right qualifications to assist part time with our Summer Farm Camp program! This temporary job runs Monday June 3rd - July 26th. (Closed the week of July 1st-5th.) Little Garden Patch emphasizes connecting kids with nature and developing creativity and social skills through outdoor play and imagination, gardening, farm animal encounters, and age-appropriate science and nature learning. In addition, children explore various themes and topics through dramatic play, stories, hands-on activities, displays, and arts & crafts. Little Garden Patch Farm serves children aged 5-8. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Help lead games, arts & crafts, hands-on science, puppet shows, story time, and simple baking projects.

Actively supervise children at all times to ensure safety.

Socialize with the children and encourage their creativity, problem-solving, and relationship building.

Maintain our compliance with Community Care Licensing safety & cleanliness standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Lead Teachers must have 12 ECE units or a similar level of job-related knowledge & experience and CPR/First Aide (infant/children) certification.

Teacher’s Aides must have 3 ECE units or a similar level of job-related knowledge & experience. For example, from working in other camps, educational programs, childcare programs, or babysitting work.

In addition, all applicants should:

Enjoy working with children and feel reasonably comfortable setting positive and consistent limits.

Enjoy working outdoors in a variety of weather. Nature and/or gardening knowledge a plus. Arts & crafts and sewing savvy also a plus.

Enjoy working around animals. Experience with farm animals a plus but not required.

Must have up to date TB clearance and vaccinations AND submit and pass a background check with Livescan fingerprinting through the Sheriff’s Department before job start date.

Enjoy leading activities for 5–8-year-olds. A background in arts & crafts, performing arts etc. is a plus.

Must help keep facility clean and safe and organize children to help clean up after activities.

All Teachers and Aides must be willing and able to set a good example for the children by being compassionate, fair, honest, patient, dependable, and helpful and most of all fun!

HOURS:

M-F, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm

Runs April 1st through April 5th of 2024.

Punctuality and reliability is very important.

PAY:

$18.00 per hour starting pay for Lead Teachers.

$16.00 per hour starting pay for Teacher’s Aides.

BENEFITS:

This is a part time, temporary position. We do not offer paid sick leave, paid vacation, or etc. However this job does come with plenty of smiles, sunshine, and the chance to pet cute farm animals!
