Substitute Teacher

CCJDS is seeking substitute teachers for grades K-8. This is an on-call position when teachers are absent.

We are a K-8 independent school with approximately 180 students, accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The school offers small class sizes, teaching assistants, a supportive environment, true dedication to professional growth, and an innovative approach to learning.

Responsibilities:

Implement lesson plans and schedule for the day as determined by the teacher(s) and administration.

Cover the absent teacher’s duties and responsibilities such as lunch and/or recess duties.

Maintain the established routines and procedures of the school.

Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the expectations of faculty and staff as outlined in the faculty handbook.

Desired Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year institution

Experience with K-8th grade students

Effective classroom management skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

This position is paid hourly, at $21-$30 per hour, depending on experience and credentials. School hours are from 7:55-3:00 for lower school and 7:55-3:30 for middle school.
