Broadway Children's School of Oakland is seeking an experienced and caring part-time Early Childhood Educator to teach with a warm and professional team in a play-based preschool program for 3 to 5-year-olds. Starting in August 2025, routine hours for this position are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:15 AM to 1:30 PM, with potential for additional hours subbing in our extended care program from 1:30-3:30 and/or on Tuesday/Thursday mornings, as well as teaching in the summer school program. The school year runs from mid-August through early June. Summer school generally runs for an additional 5 weeks, through mid-July.

Broadway has been serving children and families in Oakland since 1952 with child-centered preschool and toddler programs that support all domains of learning. We are located in the Adams Point neighborhood near Lake Merritt. Our professional team is experienced, caring, collaborative and creative, and our school community is incredibly supportive. Minimum qualifications:

At least 12 ECE/CD units, to include the 3 core courses

Prior experience with children ages 3-5 years old

The ability to incorporate developmentally appropriate practice into teaching methods

Compensation:

Competitive hourly wage (DOE)

3 weeks of paid school vacation per school year

2 weeks of paid time off/sick leave per school year
