We are currently hiring one Preschool Lead Teacher and one Preschool Teaching Assistant, who are both compassionate, nurturing, creative, reliable, and fun-loving and who are interested in making a positive impact on the lives of young children.
Preschool Lead Teacher:
Requirements:
Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills by using a variety of materials for children to explore through both learning activities and imaginative play.
Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children.
Observe and evaluate childrens’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Collaborate with the Preschool Director, other Preschool Lead Teachers, and Teaching Assistants.
Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times.
Keep track of each child’s progress and identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems, and discuss them with the Preschool Director.
Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards. At the end of the day, sweep floors and wipe down counters/clean up the day’s activities.
Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order.
Follow the school-approved discipline policies and procedures.
Know and execute school emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 18 units of completed college in early childhood education or Child Care Certificate or AA/BA degree with experience in early childhood education including at least one course in curriculum development.
Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
Excellent communication and instructional skills
Ability to act as mediator between children
Certification in child CPR
Report to: Preschool Director
Salary: $20/hour
Hours: 7:30 – 3:00
Preschool Assistant Teacher:
Responsibilities:
Follow the lead teacher or preschool director's instructions.
Help organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling.
Help observe and evaluate childrens’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Read books to entire classes and to small groups.
Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times.
Collaborate with the Preschool Director, and other Preschool Lead Teachers,
Help maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
Follow the school-approved discipline policies and procedures.
Know and execute school emergency procedures.
Other duties as needed
Qualifications:
A minimum of 12 units of completed college in early childhood education
Understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
Excellent communication and instructional skills
Ability to act as mediator between children
Certification in child CPR
Salary: $19/hour
Hours: 8:30 – 12:00 A.M. or 1:00 – 5:00
