Title: Montessori Primary Co-Teacher

The Montessori School of Sonoma is seeking a trained and experienced Montessori Primary teacher to work on a team as a co-teacher and collaborator. MSS is a private, non-profit Montessori school located in the Sonoma Valley. Established in 1972, we pride ourselves on having a close community of students, parents, and teachers who prioritize independence, curiosity, and whole-child development.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Co-lead and manage all aspects of the Primary Program, ensuring high-quality learning and child development experience for students ages 2.9 - 5
Create a rich Montessori classroom environment where work rotates monthly.
Maintain all classroom equipment, materials, and jobs.
Actively supervise and ensure the safety of all the students at MSS.
Work collaboratively with educators to synchronize curriculum topics on a quarterly basis.
Build solid relationships with parents by leading Parent/Teacher Conferences, Open House; connecting at pick-up time when needed; participation in MSS school celebrations; and increase parents’ connection to and involvement in their child’s school and education.
Help craft content for the MSS monthly newsletter, featuring curriculum themes, classroom policies, and any necessary announcements.
Required Qualifications:
Montessori Training
At least 1 year of Montessori teaching experience
A minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) Units
AA/AS or higher degree
Good verbal communication skills
Passion for a career in teaching and a love for working with children
Ability to work closely and positively with their peers/co-workers in a team environment
Ability to pass a DOJ fingerprint clearance; Ability to be CPR and First Aid certified; Ability to provide a negative Tuberculosis test.
Ability to lift or carry items up to 40 lbs.
