Job Posting: Mommy & Me Music Class Instructor
Location: In Person, Downtown Los Altos, CA
Hours: 5-20 hours per week
Starting: June, 2024
Compensation: $50 per 1-hour class
About Us:
We are a vibrant art studio in the heart of downtown Los Altos, dedicated to fostering creativity and joy in our community. We are looking for a fun, musical, and engaging music teacher to lead our in-person Mommy & Me music classes. We supply the space and all of the instruments for the kids. We have maracas, rhythm sticks, shakers, bells, sand blocks, xylophones, drums, bongos, rainmakers, ukeleles, steel triangles, maracas, tambourines, or hand percussion triangles. We also have cushie balls, ribbons and scarves for dancing.
Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and thoughtful music instructor to teach Mommy & Me music classes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about music, love working with children and parents, extremely reliable and timely, and be able to create an energetic and positive class environment. Responsibilities include setting up for classes, developing the class curriculum, running the classes, and cleaning up after the classes/sanitizing the instruments.
Responsibilities:
- Set up the classroom environment for each session.
- Develop and implement a fun and engaging class curriculum for each age group.
- Conduct age-appropriate music classes that include singing, dancing, and interactive musical activities.
- Clean up the classroom after each session and sanitize all instruments.
- Create a welcoming and sociable atmosphere for parents and children.
Qualifications:
- Ability to play a portable musical instrument (guitar, ukelele, keyboard, etc.)
- Love for singing and dancing.
- Outgoing, fun, and sociable personality.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Prior teaching experience is a plus but not necessary.
- Must be comfortable sitting on the floor and getting up and down several times per class
