Schedule: Monday through Friday, following the school bell schedule
Age Groups: Elementary, Middle, High
Population: Special needs students
Job Description:
We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Instructional Assistants to join our team and work directly with a school district for the second half of the ’24-’25 school year. As a IA's, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to special needs students in a classroom setting.
Responsibilities:
Implement behavior management plans and interventions for individual students
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement effective strategies
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students and behavioral challenges
Assist in the development of social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behavior patters
Collect and analyze data on student behavior and progress
Support students during academic activities and transitions between classes
Maintain accurate and detailed records of student behavior and progress
Participate in teams meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED is required
Previous experience working with special needs students is preferred but not required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a classroom environment, following the school bell schedule
Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential
Must pass a background check
Valid CPR certification is required
Hours and Compensation:
This is an entry level position with approximately 30 hours per week. The pay range is $20-$27 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
