Friends of Peralta Hacienda Historical Park is seeking enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated individuals to join our team for the seasonal ACE (Arts, Culture, and Earth) Summer Camp. We are looking for artists, activists, educators, gardeners, and land workers who can bring their unique skills and expertise to help lead engaging arts, culture, and environmental justice activities and lesson plans for our campers. The Arts Activities Supervisor will be responsible for:

- Gathering the needed materials for each art activity.

- Setting up in an inviting manner.

- Facilitating the activity for each group of kids (partnering with the group leaders).

- Cleaning up at the end of the day.

- Preparing the adult group leaders ahead of time with an explanation of the purpose and procedures for each activity

Planned activities include mosaics, medicine making, scavenger hunts, nature journaling, weaving, sewing, seed germination, cooking, restoration and conservation work, paper mache, and more.

Qualities and qualifications of a good candidate for this position:

- CPR certified

- Preferred bilingual

- Experience working with BIPOC youth

- Be empathetic, caring, and patient

- Organized

- Have a passion for the liberation of the land and the people

Start date for this position is June 3rd, 2024 and ends on August 2nd. Paid training will be provided in May, as well as a week of training the first week of June. The activity leader works 35 hours a week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 4 pm, with a 30-minute lunch. ACE Camp is five hours each day, from 9 am to 2 pm starting on June 3rd.

Peralta Hacienda is an award-winning historical, cultural, and community site and six acre open space park with the Peralta Creek running through it. It hosts a variety of environmental and historical programming for young people ages 5- 21 in which they garden, help restore the Peralta Creek, and engage in community discussions and events.
