About FFR Fabrication & Repair

FFR is a premier automotive restoration and customization shop specializing in high end builds, classic restorations, and performance focused upgrades. Our team is known for exceptional craftsmanship, professionalism, and a commitment to doing things right. As we grow, we’re looking for a highly organized, proactive, and experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to help drive operational excellence and keep projects moving forward.

Position Overview

The Assistant General Manager works directly under the General Manager to coordinate day to day operations, manage the parts and vendor pipeline, and serve as a vital link between the office and the shop floor. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of follow-through.

What You’ll Do

Project & Shop Operations

Help manage project flow by tracking active job status, approvals, and technician needs

Identify workflow issues and support timely escalation and resolution

Collaborate with the Shop Foreman to ensure techs stay productive and projects stay on track

Parts & Vendor Coordination

Handle all parts sourcing, ordering, tracking, receiving, and returns

Maintain relationships with vendors and sublet partners (powder coaters, upholstery shops, etc.)

Ensure all parts are labeled, documented, and distributed properly to each project

Administrative Support

Collaborate with the Office Administrator to support accurate billing and record-keeping

Assist with Shop-Ware maintenance: photo uploads, time audits, client approvals, and job documentation

Maintain internal checklists for weekly operational health

Internal Communication & Follow-Through

Act as a liaison between front office and shop team

Track flagged issues, notify clients promptly (with GM support), and keep all parties aligned

Prepare updates or status reviews for the GM and Owner

What We’re Looking For

3–5 years of experience in shop operations, project coordination, or parts/inventory management (automotive, fabrication, or industrial preferred)

Strong follow-through, organization, and time management

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Familiarity with project tracking tools or shop management software (e.g., Shop-Ware)

Ability to multitask, delegate, and manage competing priorities calmly and professionally

Leadership mindset, you look ahead, solve problems, and don’t wait to be told what to do

Bonus Points For

Experience in classic car restoration or high-end performance builds

Previous vendor negotiation or inventory control experience

Understanding of the full vehicle build process from teardown to final delivery

Why You’ll Love Working Here

You’ll be part of a tight knit team that values craftsmanship, clarity, and doing things right, not cutting corners

You’ll have autonomy and ownership in a role that truly keeps the shop running smoothly

You’ll see the direct impact of your work every day as jobs move from parts carts and estimates to completed builds

Your ideas and process improvements will be welcomed, we’re always working to get better

Work-Life Balance Matters

We know this industry can be intense, but we don’t believe in burnout as a badge of honor. We structure the role to be focused, productive, and sustainable. We respect time off, boundaries, and the fact that doing great work requires having a life outside the shop too.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $80,000–$95,000 DOE

Bonus: Performance-based quarterly bonuses up to $10,000/year

Benefits: Paid time off, employer-supported health benefits, flexible scheduling opportunities, and access to ongoing training and advancement
