Reviewer Job Description

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team as a part-time Tax Return Reviewer at A. Bagley CPA Tax & Accounting Services, Inc. This role is ideal for individuals with extensive tax preparation experience, including retirees or semi-retirees looking to contribute their expertise during the tax season. As a Tax Return Reviewer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of tax returns before they are finalized for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Review Tax Returns: Thorough review tax returns prepared by support staff for individuals, businesses, non-profits, trusts, and other entities to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations. This will be your key role.

Prepare Tax Returns: As needed, based on workload you will also have an opportunity to prepare tax returns with expectation of little to no errors.

Financial Record Review: As part of your review and preparation of tax returns you will be responsible for reviewing financial records, including income statements and expenditure documentation, to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Resolution of Concerns: Address client concerns or complaints regarding their tax returns and provide resolutions as needed.

Electronic Filing: Have an understanding of tax input software, preferably Lacerte.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (Preferred)

Minimum of 3 years of tax preparation experience (Preferred)

CPA or EA certification (Preferred)

Proficiency with tax law handbooks and electronic filing software

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tax return review

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and workload.

Proficiency with Microsoft office and other computer programs. We are a virtual tax office where the majority of documents are electronic and therefore comfort in a virtual system is necessary.

Job Type: This position offers flexible hours as needed, with some weeks requiring full-time availability and others part-time. It is a seasonal role, primarily active during the tax season from February to April and September to October.

Pay Rate: Hourly rate ranging from $25.00 to $40.00 per hour, with a bonus percentage based on the number of returns reviewed and prepared, adjusted at the end of the season.
