Position:

Accounting / Payroll

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $28.00 to $35.00 per hour

Location: GEM Headquarters, Santa Rosa, CA (Hybrid Working Model)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented accounting/payroll person who will also have minimum administrative duties. Each member of our team is hired with long term retention, professional and personal growth in mind that requires more than ever experienced and capable team members that come from diverse backgrounds, perspectives and interests.

16 - 20 hours a week: Payroll on the 16th and 1st of each month and flexible on non-payroll weeks

Full job description:

Proficient in using architectural and/or engineering cloud based accounting software – Deltek Ajera or equivalent

Strong financial report writing skills

Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes

Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping principles

Understanding of corporate accounting practices

Ability to perform account analysis and identify discrepancies

Experience with payroll processing and tax withholding

Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

Take care of accounts payable and receivable processes

Perform double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records

Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues

Process payroll and ensure accurate tax withholding

Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data

Education/Experience/Abilities:

Two to three years related accounting experience required

Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred

Understanding of organizational accounting concepts

Experience in Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc), preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat required.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Highly organized, accurate, and detail-oriented

Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and maintain high standards of accuracy with strong attention to detail

Insurable, valid CA Driver’s License
