Accounts Payable Specialist

Description An accounts payable specialist is responsible for managing the company's outgoing payments. Their primary duties typically include:Invoice Processing: Receiving, reviewing, and processing invoices from vendors or suppliers.Payment Processing: Ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, including data entry into accounting systems and scheduling payments.Vendor Relations: Communicating with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and resolving any issues that may arise.Expense Management: Reconciling company expenses, tracking spending against budgets, and ensuring adherence to company policies.Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of invoices, payments, and financial transactions.Reporting: Generating reports on accounts payable activities, such as outstanding payments, cash flow projections, and aging reports.Compliance: Ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements to streamline accounts payable procedures and enhance efficiency.Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as procurement, finance, and auditing, to ensure smooth workflow and accurate financial reporting.Audit Support: Providing support during internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
